Associations, they are an outcome of our life, our experiences, everything we’ve learned since our birth. They allow us to ably explain and translate everything we see into acceptable form. But are all these entities just a nature’s coincidence, just an “association”? Or maybe there is some consciousness behind? Being there, in the forest, in the darkness, sometimes forces you to deny the logic…
[ XXIX National Salon of Artistic Photography Zary 2019 Official Selection]
One of the first - if not the first photo that started this conscious “project”. At start I didn’t realize what I was capturing. I saw something yet I was not sure what it was. All while wandering through the dark forests and looking for “different angle”, for things that might reveal it’s true nature only when spotted from right direction.

For many years i’ve assumed that every photo I make should be clear, easily readable, with great contrast etc. I recently learned that I find great pleasure in breaking this approach, focusing more and more on selected values of tonality, on selected ranges of color or even on selected parts of frame. With this project this approach is very consistent - entities are there to be found, not just in plain sight, not in “full spectrum”.
Perceptions, associations, if they are an outcome of our life, then they are different for each and every viewer. So, what do you see? Your interpretation is as much valuable as creation itself. So, again, tell me…
Same place, 2 years later, different time, different camera, different view on things.
[ Magurka ridge region, first place in “Beskidy stopped in the frame 2023” ]
Hard to imagine but this project started already some years ago. And for You, viewer it’s just few fast clicks. I took first photos around 2018, found this one - Entity X around 2020 and Entity XV was grabbed in last days of 2022. But not only time passed, my gear also changed. This one, “X” was my first with new system - GFX 50R. Not to mention various lenses or software combinations i used over the years.
